There were plans, and the band went down to Los Angeles to record two songs, but soon afterwards they broke up and the vinyl record never happened. Some people remember Schmidtheads from Aaron Cometbus´ compilation Best We Regret, which put together on one tape 33 Northern California bands with unreleased recordings ranging from 1981 till 1988.

Schmidtheads named themselves after a beer company, because they used to drink exclusively Schmidt beer. They played a lot, mostly locally, besides their infamous "LA or bust" Tour. They played with Operation Ivy, Crimpshrine, Mr. Bungle, Problem Children, Blatz, Isocracy, Brent´s TV, Neer Do Wells, Lethal Gospel, One Man Running, Nuisance and many others. This is a song from their upcoming retrospective LP album out on No Plan records very very soon:

NO PLAN RECORDShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16201956946534620519noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014135230468873709.post-50337289012653011472023-03-30T17:30:00.001-07:002023-03-30T17:30:20.442-07:00News!! News!! News!! Breeders - Zen Punk 7"EP just out!
This is the original Breeders, formed in Champaign, IL, in the early-eighties. They released a 7" EP titled "Zen Punk" and an eight song cassette titled "Things Happen". This is a little hidden gem of Midwestern punk. Three songs, remastered for the occasion. A side is an elaborate song between Punk Rock and No Wave, that brings in mind bands like Gang of Four, Contortions, Wire,... On the flip side, two miniatures on the verge of hardcore. Think early Husker Du, Minor Threat and White Cross. Comes with the original artwork and a sticker!

You can listen to one of the songs here:

400 copies on black vinyl and 50 on green (with some on swirled green).
They can be ordered from Goodwill records

NO PLAN RECORDShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16201956946534620519noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014135230468873709.post-80280200310859246922023-03-30T17:25:00.002-07:002023-03-30T17:25:50.573-07:00REJECTORS - Thoughts Of War 7"EP is out now!
Seminal hardcore punk from Seattle, Washington, active approx. 1981-1986. The Rejectors released a 9 song 7" called "Thoughts Of War" on Fartz records in '82. Less sludgy than some of their Seattle punk peers, instead providing quick-paced west coast style thrashers with snotty teenage vocals and earnest, often politically-minded lyrics. Remastered for the occasion, the 7" comes with the original 7" artwork and insert, plus a sticker!

You can listen to some of the tracks from the 7" below:

There are 50 copies on magenta (with about 10 on swirled magenta vinyl) and 400 on black. They shared bills with punk rock bands, anarcho punk bands, post-punk bands,... Their quirkiness might remind you of Wire or Television Personalities perhaps. This is their very first single, the one that got them on Crass records, originally self-released and packed in A4 comic bags.

This reissue adds the original B side which was never released on vinyl, but scratched in the early stages for another song. Packed in a tri-fold cover, this is a very limited reissue of 100 copies on clear vinyl, 100 on white and 100 on black, all hand numbered and stamped.

Below you can check the title track:

All three versions can be ordered from www.goodwillrecords.net while supply lasts.
NO PLAN RECORDShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16201956946534620519noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014135230468873709.post-66574157808184124052022-12-01T18:42:00.002-08:002022-12-02T04:51:13.203-08:00JERRY´S KIDZ - Well Fed Society 7"EP out now!!!
Mid 80s was a very exciting time for the US hardcore. Following in the footsteps of Minor Threat, Necros, 7 Seconds, MDC, Zero Boys,... hundreds of Hardcore Punk bands sprawled all over the US. Every city had a scene, or at least a band you could identify that city with. Phoenix had JFA, Boise had Septic Death, Tulsa had NOTA, Raleigh had Corrosion Of Conformity, Dayton had Toxic Reasons,... In Albuquerque, New Mexico there were Jerry´s Kidz.

This skate punk band played so fast, as if their lives depended on it!

Well Fed Society is a 5 song banger that packs a punch and travels at 100 mph, slowing down just enough to be able to attack you again with a new barrage. Musically, this would be down the alley for fans of Minor Threat, Stalag 13, Zero Boys, Circle Jerks,... It´s fast but melodic, well written and even better played. This truly is a mid 80s US hardcore classic!

You can preorder black or red vinyl here:

https://goodwillrecords.net/?s=jerry%C2%B4s+kidz&post_type=product

NO PLAN RECORDShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16201956946534620519noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014135230468873709.post-29814459350370676692022-11-06T08:23:00.003-08:002022-11-06T08:23:58.661-08:00POLITICAL ASYLUM - "Fresh Hate" 1983 demo now available on vinyl!
Political Asylum from Stirling, Scotland started out in 1982. After just a handful of shows, in 1983 they entered a studio to record 14 songs for their first demo. Some of these songs, like Winter Of Our Discontent, System Of War and Do They Care, got rerecorded and released on their first 7" Winter (1985). Disarm Or Die was included on Window On The World LP (1990). The rest of the songs never ended up on vinyl, until now.

This is their earliest studio material when they were still a trio. It´s rough, sincere and full of youthful energy, since everyone in the band was still a teenager back in the day. Taken from the original tapes courtesy of Steve Brown and remastered for vinyl. Almost 50 minutes music, including some of their very favourites.

Political Asylum was part of the burgeoning Anarcho Punk scene of the early 80s, but musically forged their own identity with very melodic style, intricate guitar work and tuneful singing. In the sea of black leather jackets and grim visions of the future, Political Asylum brought both melody and melancholy into the scene, while their lyrics took a distinct anti military stance and disassociated from the mainstream political thought of the time. The band would carry on well into the 90s, but that´s story for another release.

The record comes in a double sided printed cover with a full-sized 4 page insert with lyrics, photos and flyers, plus a postcard. Available on black vinyl and limited red vinyl from www.goodwillrecords.net

NO PLAN RECORDShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16201956946534620519noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014135230468873709.post-90137806967252728302022-07-15T01:29:00.004-07:002022-11-06T08:26:42.994-08:00UPSIDE - s/t LP just out on No Plan Records!
Upside is a legendary hardcore/punk band from Sassuolo near Modena (Italy) that started in early 80s and is still performing to this day. They were part of the scene that gave us bands like Stigmathe, Raw Power, Nabat, Dioxina, Cani, No Jap, Hydra, Stalag 17, RAF Punk,... In 1983 they debuted on vinyl with Nati Per Soffrire 7" but even before that they recorded the first demo tape with great songs that never came out elsewhere. Political punk verging on hardcore tinged with dark overtones, both musically and lyrically. Very critical, almost apocalyptic lyrics about the society. Their music influences seem to merge early UK 82 stuff with Italian HC/Punk of the time as well as 80s Finnish HC, although not as fast as most of their Scandinavian counterparts. If you liked the recent Link Lärm LP on No Plan records, this could be something for you as well.

This LP gathers 10 songs (plus a hidden track) from the 1981 demo, remastered, for the first time on vinyl. Comes with a foldout 12" insert with band photos, lyrics, flyers and band´s history in a deluxe 350 gr laminated cover printed on both sides.

NO PLAN RECORDShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16201956946534620519noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014135230468873709.post-23669275419197380192022-05-17T06:18:00.000-07:002022-05-17T06:18:19.638-07:00BLACK EASTER - Ready To Rot 7" out in June on No Plan Records!
That´s right, the sought after Ready To Rot EP is finally seeing the light of the day with the original artwork and additional foldout insert with band´s history, photos, lyrics and flyers.

Excellent mid 80s punk 7". These guys were active between 1981 and 1982. The band released the original New Lottery 7" on Bemisbrain records famous for releasing Modern Warfare releases as well as Hell Comes To Your House compilation albums. The band recorded another song intended for another release, but it never came out, so we included it on this 7". You can also find an essay on the band and the LA punk scene of the day, band photos, flyers and lyrics, all that as part of a 12 page booklet! Great tuneful punk rock classic that you can hear at the link below. 300 copies on black, 50 on red. This is a huge album; 26 songs ranging from 23 seconds to just under 3 minutes. In addition to the original collage of photos, the foldout 4-page insert contains all the lyrics, the band´s story told by their guitar player and additional photos and gig flyers. All in all, lots of stuff to keep you busy phonically and visually.

Artistic Decline, 1982-1987, was a Los Angeles band that debuted with the highly coveted 7" Andy Warhol in 1983 on New Underground records. The album that followed was 4 years in the making and when it finally came out in 1987 it contained 26(!!!) songs. Artistic Decline, loved by FLipside, MRR and Jello Biafra, had a varied sound that spaced from mid tempo punk to fast hardcore, but never generic and always superbly performed. Closest comparisons that come to mind would be Circle Jerks, Minutemen, Adolescents, Code Of Honor... 300 copies on black vinyl, 50 on blue. As usual, you can order a copy while they last at: www.goodwillrecords.net

NO PLAN RECORDShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16201956946534620519noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014135230468873709.post-25282861606440093752021-04-17T19:13:00.007-07:002021-04-17T19:23:04.674-07:00IN THE PIT - Photobook by Alison Braun in its second edition!

Just 3 months after publishing In The Pit, the amazing photobook by Alison Braun, we´re already at the second edition! The first print run sold out before the book even hit our headquarters, so we immediately started working on second, improved, edition. Differently from the first, the second edition has 88 pages and 3 more photos compared to the first edition: 2 x Discharge and 1 x Black Flag. It also comes on heavier, coated paper, with a laminated dust sleeve.

Just like the first edition, the first 100 copies are numbered and come with an extra book-sized print you may want to frame, if you wish. The bands to choose from: Bad Brains, Battallion Of Saints, Black Flag, Christian Death, Circle Jerks, Damned, DOA, Exploited, Sick Of It All and TSOL. Some of these have already sold out, so hurry up if you´re interested in an extra photo. You can get one here:

https://goodwillrecords.net/product-tag/books/

A little more information about the book. Hardcover, black and white photography, 88 pages, comes with the dust sleeve. One of the best Punk/HC photographer of the 80s, Alison Braun, in this book portrays every imaginable underground band that played in Los Angeles at some point. The three kids aged 15, 17 and 18 found the vocalist in summer 1979 and quickly recorded a handful of songs at their bass player´s place, using the staircase as the vocal booth. His grandma, who was at home while the recording took place, did not like the vocals on “Prostituert” (Prostitute) and asked the boys to be more quiet, which can actually be heard on the recording. 4 songs of mid tempo punk rock with one reggae influenced song that you could expect from 4 teenage boys back in 1979. This EP (originally released in 1981) has become a classic that is sold at very high prices also because it´s believed that the band made a fire and destroyed a lot of the records that didn´t sell right away.

One of the rarest punk rock EPs from Norway is finally seeing the reissue with an extra insert containing the band´s history. 300 copies on black vinyl, 50 on dark red. You can order it from www.goodwillrecords.net

NO PLAN RECORDShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16201956946534620519noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014135230468873709.post-75919424164574251822020-09-09T16:23:00.001-07:002020-09-09T16:28:23.115-07:00LINK LÄRM - Troppo Presto... ...O Troppo Tardi? LP
Out on 20th of September the discography of Link Lärm entitled "Troppo Presto... ...O Troppo Tardi?". Italian hc/punk band active 1983-1986. Played with Impact, Wretched, Indigesti, Peggio Punx, Anti-Sect, No Pigs, Varukers,... In their time they released an 11 track demo tape and had 4 songs on the compilation LP "Sutura Eterna" (together with Disper-Azione, Antisbarco and Midgard). Three of them then formed Contropotere together with 2 ex members of Elettrocrazia (from Naples). This is the discography album that includes the demo (11 songs), the 4 tracks from the Sutura Eterna compilation LP and 3 more tracks from the same session that were not included on the LP. Comes with a 6 page foldout insert containing band history, photos, lyrics, gig flyers and more. Musically Link Lärm were different from what was going around in Italy in those years and profoundly different from Contropotere that came later. Frequent rhythm changes, from mid tempo to fast, accompanied by devilish vocals spouting caustic denunciation of the political and social issues of the time and pungent guitarwork reminiscing of early Black Flag works, although on the whole I´d say Link Lärm owe more musically to Dead Kennedys than to Black Flag. Add to the mix some 80s Italian hc/punk flavor (Impact, Upset Noise, Eu´s Arse,...) and you probably get an idea what Link Lärm sounded like.

18 song LP that can be ordered from www.goodwillrecords.net . There are 200 copies on black vinyl and 50 on dark red one. Below is a video with one of the songs from the album, Hiroshima, done by Matteo.

NO PLAN RECORDShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16201956946534620519noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014135230468873709.post-20106796160632731812019-09-13T19:25:00.001-07:002022-07-15T01:32:50.813-07:00RAPPRESAGLIA - Danza Di Guerra 7"EP Out now!Rappresaglia started their story back in 1982 with their furious hardcore made in Italy (perhaps you remember the song Attack from a number of compilations back in the early 80s). By 1984 when their first 7" (this one) came out, they had found their style which, although it owed a lot to the Italian style HC that in those years started conquering the world, showed a slower and more melodic side to Rappresaglia. If you look at the Italian HC/Punk scene of the time, you could find certain similarities with bands like Bloody Riot, Stigmathe, Fall Out,...4 crude, direct, tuneful Punk anthems that stand the test of time. Edition of 300 on black vinyl, 50 on green! The band´s debut 7" is now available for the first time since 1985. You probably remember them from the Skins´N´Punks split LP. Well, these here were the band´s first songs on vinyl. Classic UK street punk that packs a punch and carries a lot of melody. Think The Crack meets Red Alert meets Stiff Little Fingers. 300 copies on black and 50 on blue. There´s a very limited amount left, so better get in touch quickly at noplanrecords@gmail.com or order them from www.goodwillrecords.net. Here´s one of their songs to give you an idea:
What Steve had been diligently working on during the past year is a collection of 1980 recordings better known as Elephant Demos. The recordings were done in Elephant Studios in London in 1980 by Steve, Colin and Tig, the band´s first drummer. Most, though not all, of the songs were later re-recorded and appeared on different (Newtown) Neurotics releases, yet in this shape they had never seen the light of the day on vinyl. In addition to 10 original songs, there´s a bonus track recorded live the same year.
The recordings of these demos happened around the same time as the ones for their second 7" "When The Oil Runs Out" and why they had never been used for a release one can only guess. I recall Steve telling me that these demos were meant to be sent to record labels to showcase the band´s material back in the day. However, the band changed the drummer soon after and the demos got forgotten, until very recently when we suggested to put them on vinyl and finally do some justice to this material.
The album comes on deluxe 150 gr vinyl in gatefold sleeve and is accompanied by a double-sided insert with lyrics and photos. There are two editions: black vinyl, limited to 300 copies that can be purchased for 15 euros and the blue vinyl version, limited to 50 copies, that can be obtained for 18.50 euros from www.goodwillrecords.net
Here´s a song from Elephant Demos LP. Enjoy!
KBO! - Perspektiva 1982. - 1989. LP

NPR18 is a collection of demo recordings from the beginning of the career of Kbo!, one of the best known punk/HC bands from Yugoslavia that belongs to the second, or rather third wave of Yugo punk. Starting back in 1982, in the following 7 years Kbo! became one of the leading Punk/HC bands in Yugoslavia alongside KUD Idijoti. They released a handful of demo tapes and only at the very end of the 80s had a chance to release their first full length on Greek label Wipe Out Records (Panx Romana, Sress, Anti, Chaos Generation,...). These recordings collected throughout the 80s show the band in their best moments. To top it all, the album comes with an 8 page fanzine that tells the band's history until 1989 together with lyrics and a huge amount of pictures and flyers.
If you are interested what the punk/HC scene was like in the 80s in Yugoslavia, this album is for you. The band has been playing for 35 years now and this is a great chance to learn how it all started back in 1982.
You can order the album for 14 euros plus the postage (black vinyl version, limited to 300) or 17 euros plus postage (the color vinyl version limited to 50). Feel free to contact us at: noplanrecords@gmail.com

What seemed like a rumor, at last came true: the first NEGAZIONE 7", one of the headstones of Italian hardcore, came out in its third edition, 30+ years after the first two pressings. Released in collaboration with Negazione drummer Michele and his Piatto Forte Records, it took a few years of talks to band members to come to this release.
What you have here is raw, underproduced, primordial hardcore like very few scenes managed to produce. Italy and Finland became famous for such crude version of HC that conquered hearts during the 80s and is still very popular today. And Negazione were top of the game. Formed on the ashes of Turin HC bands like Quinto Braccio, Declino, Kollettivo,... Negazione worked hard, toured hard and played even harder. After their split tape with Declino (that later became an LP), it was the time for an own record. Subvert produzioni (Michele, the band's drummer), TVOR fanzine, Kina and Negazione themselves produced this 7" back in 1985. Sixfold poster cover with photos and lyrics and a black slab of vinyl with 5 songs was the deal, and Negazione started their 8 year long journey with it, touring all over Europe and releasing many great records after it.
600 copies on black vinyl and 100 on color are available for grabs from today, equally split between the two labels. Order your copy for 7 euros (black vinyl) or 10 euros (color vinyl) at noplanrecords@gmail.com
NPR16 announcement! Newtown Neurotics - Pissed As A Newt LP.

NPR16 has been out for some time now, before NPR15 actually. Because it took so long to put the Misanthropic Charity 7", the NEWTOWN NEUROTICS - Pissed As A Newt LP came out in the meantime, even though it was initially planned to come after it.
Good news is, we still have a handful of copies of it, so if you haven't gotten it yet, hurry up!
10 songs recorded live between 1978 and 1981. Basically, their earliest stuff, although some of those songs didn't make it until their second album.
If you know the Newtown Neurotics, you know what you can expect: great tuneful Punk Rock with lyrics that will make your mind busy for a while. This record is no exception. Great sound quality plus great packaging that comes with lots of unpublished photos and lyrics.
You can order the black vinyl version for 14 euros or the color one for 17 euros plus postage. Just send an e-mail to noplanrecords@gmail.com
MISANTHROPIC CHARITY 7" is out!

After a long wait, NPR15 is out. But it´s well worth every minute of the wait.
In spring of 1988 I heard the three songs on this demo for the first time. It was some of the most amazing music I had heard until then. When then following year band disbanded, I thought this demo will never see the light of the day. Indeed, for 30 years it didn't. Then I asked my longtime friend Anderz if I could put it out, and months later here it is.
3 songs from these fine Danish folks, ex members of Electric Deads and Enola Gay, amongst others. Melodic, powerful, intense Punk Rock with female vocals. Their best material ever. The LP was good, but these three songs are another league. Completely.
MISANTHROPIC CHARITY - s/t 7". 300 on black (6 euro each), 50 on color (9 euro each). The unreleased demo from spring 1987. Comes with a 6-fold cover with photos, gig flyers, lyrics and more. Here's My Friend from A side:
UPSET NOISE - Disperazione Nevrotica - 7"EP is out!!!

Most people remember Upset Noise from their Crossover Metal/HC/Thrash phase. But in 1985 they released their first proper 7", following the split with Warfare, and it was pure Hardcore. That 7" is to this day arguably one of the top 5 eighties Italian HC records. Desperate, furious Hardcore that takes no prisoners.
I heard this 7" several years after it came out thanks to my friend and later neighbor Paolo Petralia of SOA records. I remember that "Se Ho Vinto, Se Ho Perso" by Kina just came out, so he lent me Kina cos he thought I would like it and Upset Noise cos he liked it. Needless to say, both records are amazing and very important documents of Italian 80s Hardcore. But that 7" by Upset Noise really summarized for me what Italian HC was all about. It was raw, fast, angry and desperate. And nobody could create this sound of desperation better than they could. That cutting yet melancholic guitar sound that gets covered by words that are told, shouted or screamed rather than sung: that was their trademark. That was the No Future message of the 80s Italian youth, living the urban jungle that offered a dangerous mix of political terror, nuclear menace, drugs and police oppression. Upset Noise said it all here on this 7". 9 songs that every italian 80s HC/Punk kid from Aosta to Catania knew and loved. I remember countless shows where kids would just start chanting "Hardcore, Hardcore sei stato il primo amore..." all of a sudden.
In the days when the original goes for over 100 euros, this reissue comes with the exact replica of the original cover and the insert. We even used the same paper to make it as much similar to the original. Don´t miss this important document of the Italian HC history!
Here´s one of the songs from the 7". NON VOGLIO:
And possibly their best known song HARDCORE:
